How to easily link you social media icons or images for beginners | In simple steps

When I first started blogging linking a simple image was something I just couldn't get my head around. However, now a few years later it's something I do all the time and is so simple I wanted to make a guide for people who find this difficult or are beginners. I'm going to be showing two methods on how you can do this one for everyone and one for people using the blogger platform who don't really want to mess about with code. Although you could use both regardless of what platform you are using.

Method one

1. Download your social media icons you want or make your own if you can.

2. Open up the file, your chosen social media icons are in and copy and paste one, on to htmledit.sqaurefree (make sure you paste it in the blue part).

3. So once you've pasted that it will turn into a link- which will actually make the icons appear on your blog or website after these next few steps. So make sure you don't delete that link; but if you do just go through the steps again.

4. Change the text in red below and fill in with your links

 <a href="your social media page link" target="_blank"><img alt="your social media page link" border="0" src="The link from step 3" /></a>

5. All you need to do now is use your complete code from above and place it on your blog or website and your social media icons are fully linked and ready. Easy right?

If you want to use this method to link an image all you need to do is change 'your social media links to' whatever website or place on the internets link you would like to be redirected to when your image is clicked on. Also get the link to your image using step 3 and just use step 4 filling it in with your new links.

Method two- using Blogger

1. Download your social media icons or make them and move the files individually out of the zip folder (if you downloaded them) for each icon you want and place somewhere you'll be able to find them. (you need to do this as you won't be able to upload a zip folder and you want the social media icon in image form).

2. Open up blogger and click on create new post.

3. Now you should have the page where you create new posts up and with that click on the little picture of an image next to the link button. (circled in red). Upload the icon you want.

4. click on the uploaded image and click on the link button and type in the link to your social media page. If the link shows up below the image then it's done it wrong however, all you need to do is keep on trying to link the image. If you've done this properly no text should appear. So it is basically like linking text but in this case you don't want it to show up.

5. Then switch to html by clicking the html button (circled in blue above). There should be a code there looking something like this

 <a href="your social media page link" target="_blank"><img alt="your social media page link" border="0" src="image link" /></a>

6. Copy that code and place wherever you like and your done. This method does seem more tricky than the first however, once you get the hang of the linking it's honestly so much easier than method one. If I didn't really explain this well and you need help ask me in the comments below and I'll be happy to help.
